It all started with Gaspard-Gustave de Coriolis
Coriolis flowmeters are traditionally explained using the Coriolis effect in a rotating frame of reference.
You’ve probably heard of the Coriolis effect. But do you really know what it’s all about? Check out what we have to say about Gustave Coriolis and the significance of his 1835 paper, “On the equations of relative motion of systems of bodies.” We also offer what we believe is the first-ever English translation.
We also offer an simpler alternative view of how Coriolis meters work involving the inertial response of flowing mass to oscillating acceleration.
